Elisabeth and Amélie Fund: access to water
Scholarships for students from the South and support for Belgian organisations working in the field of water.
The King Baudouin Foundation supports numerous projects in Africa, with a special focus on Benin, Burundi, the DR Congo, Senegal and Togo. Priority is given to local civil society: individuals, organisations as well as social enterprises. Check out our grantees on this map.
The budget comes mainly from contributions from individual donors and companies.
The Foundation does not generally support projects based on spontaneous applications. The philanthropic Funds managed by the Foundation have relatively limited budgets which are often already dedicated to known partners. Exceptionally, one of the Funds may decide to support a proposal received by email.
Civil society organisations in Africa can create a philanthropic mechanism at the Foundation for their donors in Europe, the USA and Canada. For their part, philanthropists from these regions have the opportunity to rely on the Foundation to support a cause in Africa, on an ad hoc or more structural basis.
The Foundation issues few calls for African projects. Two exceptions are the KBF Africa Prize and the calls in the framework of the Elisabeth and Amélie Fund.
